We’ve been hard at work for the past few months on the iPhone version of Home Inventory. There is still a lot more to do, but here’s a quick sneak peek of some of the app:
Hmm, since iPhones/iPods have non-replaceable batteries, meaning that individual ones will become useless in a few years or less:
Have you considered how to back up the app and especially the info within it in order to later transfer it to a different iPhone/iPod?
Jude
You will be able to backup your inventory by syncing it with the desktop version of Home Inventory. iTunes also backs up the data when you sync with it, so you can restore from there as well.

Looking forward to this app, any ETA at present? Any costing details yet also?
Nothing that I can give out yet. I’ve learned my lesson when it comes to prematurely talking about release dates. Wish I could give a hint, but my business partner (also known as my wife) would make my day an unpleasant one if I did,
Not entirely sure if I understand the question. An iPhone app is under development. It will run on your iPad as well if it has been updated to iOS 4.x, but it is a native iPhone app.
The UI required for an iPhone version is radically different than what you would want to do for an iPad version. So, if we did an iPad version, it would be a separate app that would take advantage of the extra screen real estate.
