Last year Kevin introduced you to our good friend and neighbor Drew and his family’s fight against brain cancer. Yep, the friend who Kevin, when first meeting him pegged him as someone who just may be looking for free technical support. I quote from the original post, “It was clear from the way the conversation had started that someone told Drew I wrote software for a living and there was little doubt in my mind that his opening questions were intended to soften me before getting to his real point: free tech support.” Boy was he wrong!
Once again, Kevin, Adam, and myself will be a part of Drew’s team, Team DC, in the annual Race for Hope on May 4th in Washington D.C. to benefit the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. Drew passed away in February after a 6 year battle with Brain Cancer. This year we will be running in honor of Drew and in support of a little boy named Colin who is the C in Team DC.
Charity and their girls continue to handle things with grace. And even until the end, Drew still didn’t ask for, nor want, pity. What he did still want, however, is a cure. The best thing we can do for others afflicted with brain tumors is to fund the research that will bring it about.
If you would like to help out and make a donation, please head over to Team DC’s page on the Race for Hope site. Anything you can do will be very much appreciated.
Thank you,
Diane, Kevin, and Adam
